Crochet Moomin PDF pattern freebie
Hi everybody,
Finally I had some down time to sit and play a little more with my website, and I thought the perfect way to start would be by sharing my Moomin PDF with you. Here in Scandinavia, Moomin is such a beloved children’s show, and I think most of us grew up watching it at some point.
The Moomins were originally created by Finnish illustrator and writer Tove Jansson back in the 1940s. What began as beautifully illustrated books grew into a whole universe of comics, TV shows, movies, and even a theme park. The stories follow the whimsical Moomin family and their friends in Moominvalley – a place full of quirky adventures, gentle life lessons, and that special Nordic charm.
For many of us, the Moomins are more than just sweet little characters – they’re a symbol of kindness, imagination, and a reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life. Whether you remember them from the books, the animated series, or discovered them later on, there’s something truly timeless about these round, little trolls.
This PDF freebie is my crochet version of a Moomin, and I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought me to create it. It’s perfect for making a cute little lovey for a baby, or just as a sweet handmade keepsake. The pattern is written in English using US terms – but don’t worry, my Norwegian crocheters, I’ll be putting together a version for you too.
